Schism (or STDs?) in Viking’s Locker Room

So I think most people have a pretty good idea what the word schism is, right? A division, a differing in opinions.

Here is the dictionary definition…

schism: (noun) a split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief.

Apparently schism is a foreign and unknown word to the Minnesota Vikings.

[courtesy of ESPN] Recent reports revealed that there is/or was a “schism” in the Vikings locker room because many of the players have differing opinions of which QB will give the team the best chance to win – Favre, Jackson, or Rosenfels. When asked about the schism in the locker room, Favre replied:

“I don’t even know what that means.”

and later he added…

“I can assure you, I don’t think any guy in the locker room, me included, would use that word. We’d probably come up with something a little different. You guys have to come up with something a little more locker-room related.”

When DE Jared Allen was asked about the schism (the apparent rift in Viking’s locker room) he had this to say…

“I don’t think anyone on this team knows what schism means let alone use it in a sentence form. At first I thought schism was an STD, and I was like WOAH we practice abstinence here!”

>>”HEY KIDS…I practice abstinence and am schism free!!!”

Is your practice of abstinence the pullout method?  Maybe a vocabulary and sex education class should be added to their training camp practice plan.

It looks like it could be a tough year for the Vikings.

This sign reportedly hangs up in their locker room to remind them…
